The Guangdong Patent Award was established by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province to recognise high-quality patents implemented within the administrative region of Guangdong that demonstrate significant innovation and market value; it serves as one of the key indicators of a company’s core technological capabilities and intellectual property management standards. This year’s selection process continued to follow a rigorous evaluation procedure, focusing on the technical advancement of the patents, their effectiveness in industrial applications, and their role in driving industrial upgrading.

For many years, Viewtrix Technology has consistently regarded research and development as the cornerstone of its business. Between 2023 and 2025, the company’s cumulative R&D expenditure reached 685 million yuan, accounting for 25.2 per cent of its total revenue during the same period. Leveraging its in-house full-stack technology integrating both software and hardware,Viewtrix Technology has established a presence across three key areas: display driver chip design, driver compensation algorithm development, and pixel compensation circuit layout. The company’s LTPO display driver chips and RAM-less AMOLED chips, amongst others, are industry firsts. By the end of 2025, the company had registered a total of 79 patents, 22 trademarks, 23 copyrights and 11 domain names both domestically and internationally.

According to Frost & Sullivan data, Viewtrix Technology ranked fifth globally and maintained its position as the market leader in mainland China in terms of sales volume of AMOLED display driver chips for smartphones in 2024. The company is also one of the earliest independent manufacturers in the industry to apply Micro-OLED technology to consumer-grade VR/AR devices. Based on 2024 sales volume, Viewtrix Technology’s Micro-OLED display backplane and driver products accounted for a 40.7 per cent market share, ranking second globally, whilst also being the largest independent supplier in China within this sector.

In the future, Viewtrix Technology will continue to capitalise on its technological strengths, strengthen cooperation with upstream and downstream enterprises, and help establish a global hub for innovation in the display industry.
